Archangel Michael by Rudolf Steiner

Book Description

"The Michael age has dawned. Hearts begin to have thoughts. Enthusiasm no longer flows from mystical obscurity, but from the inner clarity that thought conveys. To grasp this is to receive Michael into one's soul. Thoughts that today seek to grasp the spirit must spring from hearts that beat for Michael as the fiery cosmic prince of thought." Rudolf Steiner For centuries, the tradition of the "mystical chronology" of the world's seven Archangelic Regents has been part of Western esoteric teaching. According to this tradition, 1879 marked the return of the solar spirit Michael - the Archangel of the Sun - to oversee earthly evolution. Steiner always placed his life and work in the service of Michael's evolutionary task. And he recognized that, at the beginning of the twentieth century, humanity emerged from the Kali Yuga, or Dark Age, and entered the Age of Light. Against this background, Steiner described the ascent of Michael as cosmic ruler, his battle with the "dragon" of the spirits of darkness, and his roles as the countenance of Christ and the guardian of cosmic intelligence. He also gave many profound indications of how Michael's evolutionary task depends on the free and independent collaboration of human co-workers. Speaking on behalf of Michael, Steiner laid out the essentials for a new Michaelic path to full humanity. Among the elements of this path are the development of selfless individuality; cosmopolitanism; the practice of the presence of Christ; fearlessness; the transformation of thinking and perception in a new synthesis of science, art, and religion; the spiritualization of space; and the separation of thought from language. This volume gathers Rudolf Steiner's most important statements on this subject, making it a primary source for dealing with today's political, social, psychological, and spiritual crises.

Rose Cross Meditation by Rudolf Steiner Rose Cross Meditation, Paperback (May 2016)

The Rose Cross meditation is central to the western - Rosicrucian - path of personal development as presented by Rudolf Steiner. Steiner repeatedly referred to the meditation as a 'symbol of human development' that illustrates the transformation of the human being's instincts and desires.

Awakening to Community by Rudolf Steiner Awakening to Community, Paperback (May 2016)

Steiner calls for a "searching of conscience." He explains that in anthroposophic communities we can experience our first awakening to the spirit in our encounters with others, and he describes how the reversed cultus" forms the foundation for a new community life.

Electronic Doppelganger by Rudolf Steiner Electronic Doppelganger, Paperback (May 2016)

In an increasingly digitised world, where both work and play are more and more taking place online and via screens, Steiner's dramatic statements from 1917 appear prophetic. Speaking of 'intelligent machines' that would appear in the future, he presents a broad context that illustrates the multitude of challenges human beings will face.

Music by Rudolf Steiner Music, Paperback (May 2016)

What is music? Rudolf Steiner regards the essence of music as something spiritual, inaudible to the senses. The world of tones, borne on the vibrations of air, is not the essential element. 'The true nature of music, the spiritual element in music', he says, 'is found between the tones, lies in the intervals as an inaudible quality.'
