Book DescriptionDanny and Elena are now working for the Firm, desperately attempting to track down the vengeance-seeking Black Star before more 'Angels of Death' suicide bombers are despatched. Elena is the key to discovering the bomb-master's whereabouts as she has already made Deep Web contact. The plan is simple - locate Black Star and kill him - at whatever cost. While Fergus is forced to remain in England, confined to a wheelchair as he recovers from his injuries, the hunt takes Danny and Elena to New York on a covert mission led by Marcie Deveraux. Despite Black Star's trickery and deception, the net gradually closes. Fergus travels to the US to help, but Elena is drawn into terrible danger, and only Danny can save her. A police chase through the city streets is just another rite of passage for Sean ...as is getting nicked. But a brutal event behind bars convinces him to take charge, and turn his life around.
State of Emergency, Paperback (May 2016)» View all books by Andy McNab
In a nation threatened by extremist jihadis and torn apart by civil unrest, billionaire businessman Vernon Rolt's plans for a zero-tolerance crackdown on ethnic violence has touched a popular nerve. But his move into politics has made him some deadly enemies. MI5 operative Tom Buckingham is undercover inside Rolt's organisation.
US Kirkus Review » This third in the series that includes Traitor (2005) and Payback (2006) emphasizes more intrigue than action, although action fans certainly won't be disappointed. Again, McNab's military-intelligence expertise adds interest to this engrossing caper, as the unlikely spy trio tries to catch a twisted multi-millionaire, enraged by the death of his son in the World Trade Center, who devotes his life to recruiting teen suicide bombers online. Suspense arises from speculation that reluctant teen operative Elena may fall prey to the terrorist mastermind she's trying to catch, as she's again teamed with boyfriend Danny and his veteran-spy grandfather, Fergus. All three face further danger from their ruthless boss, who clearly wants to kill them once they complete their mission. This well-crafted series, featuring plenty of computers and gadgets, continues to emerge as an excellent choice for reluctant readers and for anyone who enjoys suspense. (Fiction.
