Book Review: Best of Times by Michael Morpurgo - Reviewed by Romi Foster (24 Nov 2011) The Best of Times by Michael Morpurgo is a short picture book with a fairytale feeling; it is a christmassy feeling book, so perfect for now (it's almost December when I'm writing this) and perfect to buy and put away, only to bring out on the night of Christmas eve. Very different from Mr. Morpurgo's other books, novels, picture books, and middle grade books, and only slightly similar to his rendition of Hansel and Gretle, it is an odd story of a prince deeply in love who must save his princess. A perfect love story, but a sad one all the same. A must buy!
