David Cressy is Professor of History at Ohio State University and an Associate of Clare Hall, Cambridge. His books include 'Education in Tudor and Stuart England, Literacy and the Social Order, Reading and Writing in Tudor and Stuart England, and Birth, Marriage and death Ritual, Religion and the Life-cycle in Tudor and Stuart England.
