Celebrating New Zealand Wine by Joelle Thomson
Book DescriptionNow that wine-making in New Zealand has truly come of age, what better way to commemorate the industry's successes to date then this magnificent new book which encompasses through words and images an informative and beautifully illustrated overview of where the industry has come from, its most significant influences - and where it is heading. Starting with a foreword by internationally recognised wine writer Bob Campbell MW, Celebrating New Zealand Wine goes on to detail the country's main wine-producing regions, focusing in each case on its grape varieties both past and present - and some of the key individuals who have made - or are making - their mark on the industry. Woven into the text is a discussion of the wine-making techniques employed and, of course, the source of each region's inspiration. Wine regions covered are: Northland, Auckland and Waiheke Island; Gisborne; Hawke's Bay; Wairarapa; Nelson; Marlborough; Waipara and Canterbury; and Central Otago.
