Books By Author Charles Dickens
Select Short Fiction, Paperback (December 2016)
In his shorter fiction, Dickens investigated hitherto unexplored themes and engaged in experiments with narrative techniques. This collection focuses on tales of the supernatural, impressionistic sketches, and dramatic monologues.
Hard Times, Paperback (December 2016)
"An excellent collection of critical and social commentary that will help to make Dickens' image of Victorian England meaningful to all students."-John Howard Wilson, Dakota Wesleyan University
Christmas Carol, Paperback (November 2016)
Miserly Ebenezer Scrooge is visited on Christmas Eve by the three ghosts of Christmas. They show him the joy of Christmas, and wretchedness of his own legacy. Inspired and chastened by what he has seen, Scrooge resolves to change and from then on embraces and promotes the true spirit of Christmas.

Designed and illustrated by Seth, this reissue breathes new life into a work many consider Dickens' best ghost story.
US Kirkus Review » This simplified version of the classic is a straightforward piece of work, sticking to the grand elements of the storyline: The miserly Scrooge gets his Christmas Eve comeuppance from Marley and the three ghosts, sees the folly of his parsimonious ways, and becomes a changed man. Great hunks of the original have been left on the cutting room floor, naturally enough, but what is left feels too much like a pastiche: scenic views without the travel in between. Heyer's crisp acrylics are accomplished and often stunning, though there are odd moments when the artwork isn't in step with the text (why aren't Marley's glasses up on his ghostly forehead?) and other times when it simply fails to convey the story's spirit, such as the dance scene with the Ghost of Christmas Past. This retelling will be most successful if it spurs readers on to the original. (Kirkus Reviews)
