Books By Author John Berryman
Recovery, Paperback / softback (September 2016)
A thinly-veiled autobiographical novel, Recovery follows Dr. Alan Severance through his emotional journey of Freudian group analysis where he confesses his humiliations, defeats, and delusions in an attempt to purge himself and achieve normality.
Heart is Strange, Paperback (April 2016)
John Berryman was perhaps the most idiosyncratic American poet of the twentieth century. The Heart Is Strange, a new selection of his poems, along with reissues of Berryman's Sonnets, 77 Dream Songs, and the complete Dream Songs, marked the centenary of his birth. This book includes a generous selection from across Berryman's varied career.
Selected Poems 1938-1968, Paperback (November 2014)
Some months before his tragic death in January 1972, the author completed this selection from the whole of his published poetry. He designed it to provide both an introduction to his work and a summary of his poetic career up to the publication of Love and Fame.
Dream Songs, Paperback (November 2014)» View all books by John Berryman
John Berryman's Dream Songs are perhaps the funniest, saddest, most intricately wrought cycle of poems by an American in the twentieth century. This title collects 77 Dream Songs, which won Berryman the Pulitzer Prize in 1965, and their continuation, His Toy, His Dream, His Rest, which won the National Book Award and the Bollingen Prize in 1969.
