The Field Guide to the Global Economy
Field Guide to the Global Economy by John Cavanagh
Book DescriptionPublished in conjunction with the Institute for Policy Studies, a Washington, D.C.-based, independent research institute, this fact-filled, accessible guide explains how global institutions such as the World Bank, International Monetary Fund, World Trade Organization, and the North American Free Trade Agreement affect communities, workers, the poor, and the environment. The book dispels common claims of supporters of current globalization policies and provides an update on the exciting movement that is challenging these policies, from Bolivian water warriors to U.S. student anti-sweatshop activists.
