Military Legacies by James A. Tyner Military Legacies, Hardback (January 2010)

Landmines, cluster-bombs, chemical pollutants, and other remnants of war continue to cause death to humans and damage to the environment long after the guns have fallen silent. To understand the legacy of modern militarism, this book presents an overview of post-conflict societies, with an emphasis on the human toll exacted by modern warfare.

War, Violence, and Population by James A. Tyner War, Violence, and Population, Paperback (April 2009)

Offers a spatial perspective on how and why populations are regulated and disciplined by mass violence - and why these questions matter for scholars concerned about social justice. This book shows how demographic analysis of fertility, mortality, and migration cannot be complete without taking war and genocide into account.
