FRANK MCDONOUGH is Reader in International History at Liverpool John Moores University, UK. He has published many books including Hitler and Nazi Germany, Opposition and Resistance in Nazi Germany, Hitler, Chamberlain and Appeasement, Hitler and the Rise of the Nazi Party and The Origins of the First and Second World Wars. JOHN COCHRANE is Lecturer in History at Liverpool John Moores University and Tutor in History and Social Science/Criminology at the Open University.
