Author Biography - Chris Chesher

DR CHRIS CHESHER is Senior Lecturer in the School of Media and Communications at the University of New South Wales. He has taught theory and practice of new media for over a decade, and published widely. He is one of the facilitators of the Internet mailing list Fibreculture. KATE CRAWFORD is a lecturer in Online Media in the Media and Communications Programme at the University of Sydney. She has worked extensively as a print and online journalist, for newspapers (The Sydney Morning Herald) and magazines (as editor of Internet.au). She is also an internationally recognised electronic music artist. ANNE DUNN is a lecturer in Media and Communications at the University of Sydney. Before moving into an academic career, she spent more than 20 years working as a presenter, media researcher, journalist, producer and director, for radio and television in both the public and commercial sectors, in Australia and the UK. She set up the first online media production degree programme at Charles Sturt Universtiy, in Bathurst, New South Wales. SCOTT SHANER is a lecturer in the School of Media and Communications at the University of New South Wales. His most recent publications focus on characterising the World Wide Web as an emerging media form and analysing the genre of online media events. In addition to his teaching and research in online media, Scott has worked as a consultant, assisting government and business to communicate more effectively via the Web.
