Islam and the West by Christopher J. Walker

Book Description

We have rapidly grown used to the idea, particularly since the declaration of a world-wide war on terrorism, that between Islam and the West there exists a deep historical and ideological gulf. Christopher Walker's book turns such accepted views on their head and paints instead a picture of two belief systems which have a history of toleration.

Reason and Religion in Late Seventeenth-Century England by Christopher J. Walker Reason and Religion in Late Seventeenth-Century England, Hardback (October 2012)

Christopher J Walker here explores the tensions between the forces of reason and revelation within English religion in the volatile period following the end of the Civil War. Ranging widely across the ideas of the period the author shows that the thinking of the radical figures of the era were not antipathetic to Christian faith but integral to it.

Visions of Ararat by Christopher J. Walker Visions of Ararat, Paperback (May 2005)

Despite the great geographical gulf that separates them, Armenia and Europe have maintained links for many centuries - at least since the late Middle Ages when the King of Armenia travelled to London to try and reconcile the warring kingdoms of England and France.

Oliver Baldwin by Christopher J. Walker Oliver Baldwin, Paperback (January 2003)

Oliver Ridsale Baldwin, 2nd Earl Baldwin, lived from 1899 to 1958. He has been called 'a grandee of the anti-establishment'. This biography gives him his due place in British life and letters.
