The Jugurthine War
The Conspiracy of Catiline 1st New impression
Jugurthine War by Sallust
Book Description"The Conspiracy of Catiline" (his first published work) contains the history of the memorable year 63. Sallust adopts the usually accepted view of Catiline, and describes him as the deliberate foe of law, order and morality, and does not give a comprehensive explanation of his views and intentions. Catiline had supported the party of Sulla, to which Sallust was opposed. Sallust's "Jugurthine War" is a valuable and interesting monograph. We may assume that Sallust collected materials and put together notes for it during his governorship of Numidia. Here, too, he dwells upon the feebleness of the senate and aristocracy.

Fragments of the Histories. Letters to Caesar, Hardback (June 2015)
The Histories of Sallust (86-35 BCE), while fragmentary, provide invaluable information about a crucial period of history from 78 to around 67 BCE. In this volume, John T. Ramsey has freshly edited the Histories and the two pseudo-Sallustian Letters to Caesar, completing the Loeb Classical Library edition of his works.
War with Catiline. The War with Jugurtha, Hardback (November 2013)
Deal with the moral and political decline of Rome, one on the conspiracy of Catiline and the other on the war with Jugurtha.
Catiline's Conspiracy, the Jugurthine War, Histories, Paperback (April 2010)
These three works exemplify the Roman historian Sallust's condemnation of the excesses of the late Republic. In the conspiracy of Catiline and the war against Jugurtha he sees moral and political corruption and the tragedy of civil strife. This new translation captures Sallust's distinctive style and considers his work as history and literature.
