Author Biography - Michael Bierut
Michael Bierut is a partner in the New York office of the international design consultancy Pentagram. He is editor of Rethinking Design, a journal of critical perspectives, and co-editor of Looking Closer 3, Looking Closer 2, and Looking Closer. He lives in New York City. William Drenttel is a partner of Jessica Helfand/Bill Drenttel, a multimedia and print media company, and a publisher of poetry, fiction, and writing on design. He is co-editor of Looking Closer 2 and Looking Closer. He lives in Falls Village, Connecticut. Steven Heller is the art director of the New York Times Book Review and co-chair of the MFA/Design department of the School of Visual Arts. He is the author or editor of more than 80 books on graphic design, including Graphic Design History, Texts on Type, The Education of an Illustrator, Graphic Design Time Line, The Education of a Graphic Designer, Design Connoisseur, Sex Appeal, The Swastika, Design Dialogues, Design Literacy, Design Literacy (continued), Design Culture, Looking Closer 3, Looking Closer 2, and Looking Closer, all published by Allworth Press.
