Media and Everyday Life by Tim Markham Media and Everyday Life, Hardback (November 2016)

Establishing a critical break with the way we usually experience media as given, this text takes a step back and asks challenging questions about what underpins that experience, and sets out the full range of academic perspectives available to begin to answer those questions.

Politics of War Reporting by Tim Markham Politics of War Reporting, Hardback (November 2011)

This book challenges the assumptions that reporters and their audiences alike have about the way the journalistic trade operates and how it sees the world. It unpacks the taken-for-granted aspects of the lives of war correspondents, exposing the principles of interaction and valorisation that usually go unacknowledged.

Media Consumption and Public Engagement by Tim Markham Media Consumption and Public Engagement, Hardback (April 2007)

Contemporary democracies are based on the belief that media can deliver the attention of the voting populations. But in an age of multiplying media, political disillusionment, and time-scarcity, is this plausible? This book addresses this question, drawing on the voices of people from the UK, as well as survey data and research in the USA.
