Mindscape by Terence M. Harrison

Book Description

"Mindscape" follows interlocking stories of different people set in the contemporary scapes of Manchester, Melbourne and Snowdonia. Throughout the interesting shifts in plot and characters, Terence maintains a tension and allusion to the original psychic theme that is captivating. If the world of I.D. technology, extortion and spies seems much removed from that of Romantic poets and caving, "Mindscape" will show you new possibilities. Eric Lewthwaite, a fascination mixture of computer geek, 'weirdo' and genius, can glimpse beyond the impossible and into another level of consciousness, though when he stumbles into a chasm of intrigue everything is turned upside-down. Emma Beardmore is a student of metaphysics who sees into the past and speaks with her dead mother - but what part does she play in all this?

Mindscape by Terence M. Harrison Mindscape, Paperback (February 2009)

A 'metaphysical thriller' that begins with a series of seemingly unconnected events involving a headless-rider, whose appointed mission is to free two prisoners from Dartmoor; a bus load of teenagers in Norfolk, whose mobile phones inexplicably all go off simultaneously; and, a woman who is able to climb through a 'window' to reach into the past.

Author Biography - Terence M. Harrison

Terence Harrison spent his childhood in the 'Potteries' district of North Staffordshire and an often surreal adolescence in the South coast seaside town of Bognor Regis. His education was variously Dickensian (Crewe), liberal (West Sussex), and 'radical' (Leeds University). After moving to London, he worked for a while on an investigative magazine, instrumental in ending a seventy-year old blacklisting agency; and also organised punk and reggae concerts for various campaigns, including support for persons wrongfully held in detention. Over the years he has reinvented himself as mountain-rescue radio operator, school teacher, web designer, indexer, IT trainer, lecturer in professional writing and (latterly) librarian. He is widely travelled and has lived in France, Holland and Australia. He has two children. Though Harrison claims no literary merit - merely 'a profound sense of the absurd' - his longer-term ambition is not so modest: namely 'to live forever, if not physically then as a resonance in the cultural and psychological consciousness of humanity as a whole'. But, as he says, that's another story...
