Proteomic Applications in Cancer Detection and Discovery by Dr. Timothy D. Veenstra
Book DescriptionBridging the knowledge gap between scientists that develop and apply proteomics technologies and oncologists who focus on understanding the biological basis behind cancer manifestation and progression, Proteomic Applications in Cancer Detection and Discovery provides an up-to-date account of how the multiple facets of proteomics have been applied to cancer. By balancing the treatment of technologies and applications, the book enables analytical scientists and oncologists, post-doctoral researchers, major research or medical centers, cancer researchers, pharmaceutical researchers, chemists, and biologists to better understand both.

Author Biography - Dr. Timothy D. Veenstra
TIMOTHY D. VEENSTRA, PhD, is Director of the Laboratory of Proteomics and Analytical Technologies at the Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research. Dr. Veenstra and his lab group develop and apply chromatography and mass spectrometry approaches to characterize protein complexes and the role of post-translational modifications in these complexes. Additionally, they use high-throughput proteomic approaches for the discovery of biomarkers for disease as well as proteomic and metabolomic technology for the interrogation of clinical samples. Dr. Veenstra has coauthored more than 300 peer-reviewed publications and is the coeditor of Proteomics for Biological Discovery.
