World, Class, Women by Robin Truth Goodman

Book Description

World, Class, Women begins the extraordinarily important task of bringing a postcolonial, feminist voice to critical pedagogy and, by extension explores how current debates about education could make a contribution to feminist thought. Robin Truth Goodman deftly weaves together the disciplines of literature, postcolonialism, feminism, and education in order to theorize how the shrinking of the public sphere and the rise of globalization influence access to learning, what counts as knowledge, and the possibilities of a radical feminism.

This book offers an insightful look at the development of feminist theory through a literary lens.

Gender Work by Robin Truth Goodman Gender Work, Hardback (December 2013)

Labor has acquired a re-emergent public relevance and shown that feminist theory must reconsider the relationship between labor and gender. This book builds a theoretically-informed politics about changes in the gendered structure of labor by analyzing representations of how the symbolic power of gender is in the service of neoliberal practices.

Feminist Theory in Pursuit of the Public by Robin Truth Goodman Feminist Theory in Pursuit of the Public, Paperback (November 2011)

The waning of power in the public sphere diminishes the influence that citizens can have in deciding on the conditions of life, and therefore minimizes the changes that feminists can envision or enact in the social field to work towards equality, access, deliberation, participation, just distribution, rights, and authority for women.
