Second Battle of the Marne by Michael S. Neiberg
Book DescriptionThe First Battle of the Marne produced the so-called Miracle of the Marne, when French and British forces stopped the initial German drive on Paris in 1914. Hundreds of thousands of casualties later, with opposing forces still dug into trench lines, the Germans tried again to push their way to Paris and to victory. The Second Battle of the Marne (July 15 to August 9, 1918) marks the point at which the Allied armies stopped the massive German Ludendorff Offensives and turned to offensive operations themselves. The Germans never again came as close to Paris nor resumed the offensive. The battle was one of the first large multinational battles fought by the Allies since the assumption of supreme command by French general Ferdinand Foch. It marks the only time the French, American, and British forces fought together in one battle. A superb account of the bloody events of those fateful days, this book sheds new light on a critically important 20th-century battle.

Path to War, Hardback (November 2016)
In 1914 the country was firmly determined to stay clear of Europe's war. By 1917, it was ready to jump into the fray. What happened in between? Acclaimed historian Michael S. Neiberg examines America's entry into World War One, shedding light on the dilemmas and crises the country faced from 1914 to 1917.
Dance of the Furies, Paperback (October 2013)
Looking beyond diplomats and generals, the author shows that neither nationalist passions nor desires for revenge took Europe to war in 1914. He gives voice to a generation who suddenly found themselves compelled to participate in a ghastly, protracted orgy of violence they never imagined would come to pass.

Looks at the drama surrounding the Liberation of Paris in 1944, as the Allies struggled to reclaim Europe, Hitler plotted it's destruction, and a handful of conspirators strove to save the City of Lights. This book shows how a host of brave fighters, commanders, and officials saved the city and, in the process, shaped the outcome of World War II.
