Selected Letters of Friedrich Nietzsche by Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche

Book Description

This collection of more than two hundred of Nietzsche's letters offers a representative body of correspondence on subjects of main concern to him--philosophy, history, morals, music and literature. Also included are letters of biographical interest which, in Middleton's words, mark the stresses and turnings of his life. Among the addressees are Richard Wagner, Erwin Rohde, Jacob Burkhardt, Lou Salome, his mother, and his sister Elisabeth. The annihilating split in Nietzsche's personality that has been associated with his collapse on a street in Turin in 1889 is described in a moving letter from Franz Overbeck which forms the Epilogue. Index.

Aphorisms on Love and Hate by Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche Aphorisms on Love and Hate, Paperback (February 2015)

Birth of Tragedy by Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche Birth of Tragedy, Paperback (February 2015)

Argues the importance of the tension between what the author called Apollonian and Dionysian forces. In this title, the author boldly combines aesthetics and psychology in a creative meditation on the sources of artistic inspiration. It also addresses the problem of nihilism in modern culture.

Beyond Good and Evil by Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche Beyond Good and Evil, Hardback (November 2014)

One of the most iconoclastic philosophers of all time, the author dramatically rejected notions of good and evil, truth and God. With wit and subversive energy, he demands that the individual impose their own 'will to power' upon the world. This book demonstrates that the world is steeped in false piety and infected with a 'slave morality'.

Humano, Demasiado Humano by Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche Humano, Demasiado Humano, Paperback / softback (October 2014)

As essential aspects of the work of a German philosopher, it may highlight the struggle for a new idea of culture. They also have a desire for power and to inform the Western culture of values which they deny as forms of morality.
