The summer that Liam set up a second-hand junk shop on the footpath outside his house, his parents took alternative action and packed him off to `the uncles' for the holidays. Hector and Hodge prove to be a pair of ancient bachelors, dormant in front of the telly. But they have a garage full of junk which Liam immediately starts sorting: `This could be my new shop! Not just a shop, a superstore!'. With the discovery of an antique motorbike, still in working condition, the uncles come to life and join Liam in a plot to swap the old Enfield for a new `Farley-Davidson Future Machine' - a ploy that involves the trio with a fearsome gang of female bikies and seven jars of Liam's own special home-made perfume. Amusing, full-page line drawings preface the brief chapters in this large-print, very British, comedy/ adventure story for independent readers aged around eight to 10.
