Author Biography - Leila Aboulela

Leila Aboulela was born in 1964, grew up in Khartoum and came to the UK to study at the London School of Economics. 'The Museum', a story from Coloured Lights, was the winner of the 2000 Caine Prize for African writing. Her second novel, Minaret, will be published by Bloomsbury in June 2005. Leila Aboulela lives between Djakarta and Aberdeen.
