Author Biography - Peter Gill
Peter Gill has been involved in whale research since 1983. He has researched humpback and southern right whale, and is currently studying blue whales off the coast of Victoria. Peter has taken part in whale surveys in Antarctic waters, and worked as a lecturer, boat driver and guide on Antarctic tourist expeditions. He is the author of several books about whales and many scientific papers and magazine articles. Cecilia Burke is a photographer and journalist with a special interest in wildlife and conservation issues. Her interest in whales and dolphins deepend after meeting a solitary dolphin in the west of Ireland. This book reflects her deep respect and admiration for Australian and New Zealand cetaceans.
