When Evil Came to Good Hart by Mardi Link
Book DescriptionAuthor Mardi Link details all the evidence to-date in this page-turning true-life whodunit. While investigating the murders, officials considered hundreds of tips and leads, among them everyone from former secretaries who worked for murder victim Dick Robison; Robison's business associates; John Norman Collins, perpetrator of the 'Co-Ed Murders' that took place in Washtenaw County between 1967 and 1969; and an inmate in federal prison in Leavenworth, Kansas, who said he knew who killed the Robison family.Link crafts her book around police and court documents, statements, and interviews, in addition to exploring the impact of the case on the community of Good Hart, and the stigma that surrounds the popular summer getaway. She laces her tale with fascinating bits of local and Indian history, while dozens of colorful characters enter and leave the story, spicing the narrative.Yet, forty years later, the case lies tantalizingly out of reach. In the author's words, this is still an "unsolved cold case bearing thirty-five years' worth of dead-end leads, anonymous tips, a few hard facts, and countless cockamamie theories."

On August 23, 1907, Sister Janina waved good-bye to her priest, who was headed out for an afternoon of fishing, and retired to her convent cell to take a nap. She was never seen again. Her fellow nuns listed her as 'lost' in their book of records, and so she remained until an ambitious priest launched a campaign to build a new church at Isadore.
