Seven leading Australian writers will be in China from 9 to 14 March for ‘Australian Writers Week'--an inaugural series of talks, workshops and forums sponsored by the Australian Embassy.

The writers--Lily Brett, Christopher Kremmer, Anna Funder, Gail Jones, Nicholas Jose, Ouyang Yu and Christopher Koch--represent ‘the very best of Australian contemporary literature,' said Australian Ambassador Dr Geoff Raby.

‘We are ... keen to raise the profile of Australian writers and their work in an important growing literary market.'
