The Five Mile Press is re-releasing A Killer in the Family (Lindy Cameron and Fin J Ross), after legal considerations prompted the publisher to recall the title earlier this year.
‘The legal opposition was based on one of the convicted criminals [included in the book] launching an appeal,' Five Mile Press publisher Janet Rowe told WBN. ‘This event would have meant that we would have been forced to withdraw the book. We were unsure about whether to leave the book out there, but in the end decided to recall it anyway and have it re-checked.'
‘In the event, the appeal has still not been lodged and having satisfied ourselves that the book does not attract any legal issues, our primary responsibility was to relaunch it and fulfil our obligations to the authors,' said Rowe.
The title has been reprinted with a new cover ‘due to a copyright issue with one of the photos which we were initially unaware of,' said Rowe, however WBN understands that the text of the book has not been changed.
