With only two days until the Melbourne Writers' Festival kicks off in Federation Square, many events have already sold out, including the keynote address with Germaine Greer, which will follow the announcement of the Age Book of the Year Awards.

Other popular sessions which have already sold out include all of David Sedaris' appearances, all five of the literary walk tours, sessions with Georgette Heyer, Paul Keating, Alex Miller, Helen Garner, Emily Rodda (in the school programs), and the Movida lunch with Frank Camorra.

The festival website also lists sessions that are ‘teetering', and recommends readers get in quick if looking to attend. These include more of the lunches, sessions with David Malouf, Michelle De Kretser, Don Watson (who's also in some sold-out sessions), and Jackie French in the school program.

There is also a series of free events, along with free entertainment each night at the Festival Club.

See all the up-to-the-minute details on the MWF website at www.mwf.com.au.
