Queen's birthday honours announced

The late Richard Kemsley, a Ginger Meggs cartoonist for 23 years, was among the authors and artists to receive recognition in this year's Queen's Birthday Honours.

The late Richard Kemsley, a Ginger Meggs cartoonist for 23 years, was among the authors and artists to receive recognition in this year's Queen's Birthday Honours.

Among the other book-related recipients were Kim McKay (True Green, ABC Books); Miraca Gross (Inequity in Equity: Gifted Education in Australia, Menzies Research Centre); Lucio Galletto (Lucio's Ligurian Kitchen: The Food of the Italian Riviera, A&U); the late Frances Lovejoy (Call Girls: Private Sex Workers in Australia, UWA Press).

Kenneth Hince was honoured for services to the antiquarian book trade, legal author Andrew Lang for services to the law, and historian and author Pearl Odgen for services to the community in the Northern Territory. The late Richard Lane was honoured as the author of ‘screenplays, radio and television scripts and histories of Australian radio drama.'.
