Three years after Richard Nixon's resignation from office, he was paid $1 million to participate in a series of interviews with David Frost, a prominent television personality. The interviews were conducted over 12 days and made up around 28 hours of taped material. Author James Reston Jr acted as Frost's Watergate adviser for the interviews, and in 1977 wrote a behind-the-scenes account of his experience of the interviews called The Conviction of Richard Nixon - this week's most mentioned book. The Melbourne Theatre Company are on the bandwagon and have a production about it and the book is being published this month.
