These small-format ‘I’m Glad’ books follow on from I’m Glad You’re My Mum and I’m Glad You’re My Gran. They are colourfully illustrated, with warm loving messages to read, such as: ‘I’m glad you’re my Dad because … we have lots of fun together’, ‘I’m glad you’re my Grandpa and I’m lucky to have you.’ and ‘I love you lots Grandpa and I know you love me too.’ The child/grandchild is alternately illustrated as a girl or a boy. Pages are left (with lines) for the child to write their own messages, or blank for them to draw the suggested things that they could share in doing with the parent or grandparent. There’s gardening, dancing, building and cooking. There are also pages to colour in, illustrating some of these activities. These would make a great little gift for children to give Dad or Grandpa for Father’s Day. Well-priced at $5.99 they are around the cost of a card while providing an activity for the child and a personalised gift. Recommended for children threeplus.
