Recently I caught myself looking up "fads" on the internet for losing weight, seeing as so many people I have seen around me lose unbelievable amounts of weight from some of the more extreme options - stomach staple and LAP band. In all honestly I was pretty much convinced I COULD NOT lose weight unless I was trying one of these shake diets or another crazy fad.

Then I had to stop myself and think surely people can still lose weight through actual hard work and self control right?? Then I happen to stumble across this book. It was SOOOO refreshing to read Sally's story. Not just someone who had never been over a size 10 saying how working out and diet should be like this. Someone who REALLY was larger and put in the work and conquered her mind to do the hard yards and lose weight. And not just a little bit of weight, alot.

This book is very good, and gives you HEAPS of great tips for your weight loss journey. I have been trying out the tips that she is giving and I have to say I am finding them very helpful.

At last, a weight loss book that doesn't tell you to give up an entire food group or live entirely on protein. Sally's book is based on personal experience, so all of the steps she gives here are actually achievable for a normal human being. There are loads of practical and creative strategies to help you incorporate healthy eating and exercise into your life while still going about your daily existence - going to work, doing the school run, etc - and still doing things you enjoy that involve food, like eating out. If there's one thing this book has taught me, it's that getting fit and healthy doesn't mean giving up all the good things in life!

Since Sally's own weight loss story is the basis of the advice she gives, this is also a much more enjoyable read than most other weight loss books. It's honest, funny, and inspiring - and if it worked for Sally, it can work for you, too!
