WINNER of the Australian Publishers Association, The Australian Educational Publishing Awards 2009, Tertiary (Wholly Australian) Scholarly Reference
Infectious diseases are the worlds leading cause of premature death and do not recognize geographic, political, or social boundaries; therefore global understanding and action is required if health care workers are to investigate, diagnose, control and, if possible, eradicate such diseases.
Infectious Diseases: Atlas, Cases, Text is more than simply an atlas; it provides the historical background of each disease and illustrates its manifestation by case presentations. Contributions from a team of international specialists add further weight to the text. Presented in a user-friendly, clinical-cases style in keeping with problem-based learning, the book features:
Clinical presentations of the disease
Diagnostically relevant information
Treatment options (in some cases)
Infectious Diseases: Atlas, Cases, Text can be used as a reference by general practitioners, residents, interns, and medical students, as well as specialists in infectious diseases, pathology, dermatology, and public health. The historical vignettes and the engaging writing style ensure it can also be read by those with a general interest in the subject.
With over 1500 high-quality images delivered in striking full color, the books covers both common and uncommon diseases.
