Description - Wireless Broadband Handbook by Regis J. Bates

This text looks at the changes taking place within the field of telecommunications, the protocols and the technologies being developed. Author, "Bud" Bates, asks three questions about each technology or protocol: What is it? What is it going to do for me? and How much is it going to cost me? This is a market-driven approach that provides an analysis of the systems and options without all the technical stuff. It translates the technical jargon into clear business sense covering applications and implementations of technologies, regulatory and standards developments, product photos and descriptions, as well as generic pricing and business models. This handbook focuses on the world of broadband wireless, at WAP, LMDS and MMDS, and the technology basics of TDMA, CDMA and GSM.
