Description - Read the Label! by Richard Emerson

We ve had books exposing the tricks of the food industry; we ve had guides to ethical shopping and we ve had tirades against fast food chains. But, finally, here is a book that examines in-depth the common ingredients found in our foods, explains how far you can trust the information displayed on labels and guides you in making an informed decision about the foods you buy. Do you know the difference between Use by and Best before ? Or what is meant by Farmhouse or Home-made ? And did you know that 75% of the salt we consume each day is added by food manufacturers during preparation or processing?
