Description - Captain Flinn and the Pirate Dinosaurs by Giles Andreae
In this visually compelling picture book, Flinn and his friends find themselves entering a pirate world through the back of their school art cupboard. Enlisted by the less-than-fearsome Captain Stubble, the children set out to rescue his stolen ship. Little do they know that the ship has been taken over by a motley crew of pirate dinosaurs. Can Flinn and his friends save the day and will they get back to school before Miss Pie notices? A fantastic collaboration, combining the humour and imagination of the creator of Purple Ronnie and the exuberant artwork of Russel Ayto. Captain Flinn is an ideal book for all young boys.

Captain Flinn and the Pirate Dinosaurs comes from a series of popular books staring the adventures of Captain Flinn.
The story really opens up a childs imagination. Flinn a normal every day boy somehow finds himself transported into a magical kingdom where dinosaurs are pirates. When Flinn discovers a pirates hiding in his cupboard he follows him through to try and save the pirates ship 'acrorn' which has been stolen by the T-rex and his pirate dinosaurs.
Once again the illustrations are quite unique and distinctive as what you would expect from the series. A recommended book one of adventures at the high seas.
