Description - Writing on the Body by Katie Conboy
This work comprises a collection of influential readings in feminist theory. It is divided into four sections: "Reading the Body"; "Bodies in Production", which examines the representation of the female body as a site for objectification and as a critical spectator; "The Body Speaks"; and "Body on Stage" which traces the female body through the performances that sometimes constitute gender identity.
