Tomoko Matsuda (Professor, Graduate School of Bioscience and Biotechnology, Tokyo Institute of Technology, J3-5 4259 Nagatsuta-cho, Midori-ku, Yokohama, Kanagawa, JAPAN 226-8501) Prof T Matsuda research has been focused on the organic synthesis with enzymes, biocatalysis, for 20 years. Particularly, the study of enzymatic reactions in a non-aqueous solvent. Supercritical and liquid carbon dioxide have been used as a solvent and reactant of the enzymatic reaction to develop environmentally friendly organic synthetic methods. His group has achieved the waste-minimization in large-scale production of chiral compounds with a flow system using liquid carbon dioxide as a solvent and an immobilized lipase as a catalyst. He has published more than 65 articles in international journals and has an H-index of 25.
