The authors are respectively Professor of Phonetics Emeritus and Adjunct Professor of Linguistics at the University of California, Los Angeles. Peter Ladefogeda s books include the standard introductory phonetics textbook A Course in Phonetics 3e (Harcourt Brace, 1993)
