Description - Modernism by Michael H. Whitworth
Introducing the central debates that surround literary modernism, (particularly in its relations to modernity and modernization, and to other literary and cultural movements) this volume shows how the modernist writers understood and constructed modernism (not always by that name), and how succeeding generations have developed those constructions and brought new interpretations to bear on the subject. The pieces have been selected primarily for their relevance to the questions surrounding modernism, and are introduced in this light, rather than their importance in the critical traditions surrounding individual writers.
