Ludlow is a fine old town with over 900 years of history. We can still see much of its historic character today in the magnificent castle and church and in the wide variety of the architecture of its beautiful buildings. This book looks at the town as it was at the beginning of the 1960s and gives a unique snapshot of life in this small but bustling market town. The photographs were taken by W.G. Cross & Sons of Shrewsbury, who travelled around Shropshire at this period taking hundreds of photographs of towns and villages, and building up a wonderful time capsule of images for future generations of local historians. Abbeycolor have lovingly preserved and beautifully reproduced these wonderful black and white pictures, which will evoke a treasure trove of happy memories for all those who remember Ludlow in the swinging sixties.
