Description - Power and Responsibility by Stephen John Stedman
The post-World War II fabric of global security simply does not meet the needs
of today's world. Built for a different age, different threats, and a different balance of power, the current multilateral security system is ill-equipped to address today's most pressing global challenges. This book makes a compelling case for forming new international partnerships and revitalizing instruments of cooperation. Power and Responsibility establishes a new conceptual foundation for international security: "responsible sovereignty," or the notion that sovereignty entails obligations and duties toward other states as well one's own.
