Author Biography - Frances Schoonmaker

Frances Schoonmaker is a professor in the Department of Curriculum and Teaching at Teacher's College, Columbia University. She has taught and lectured in China, Japan, Mexico, England, and India, and served as the head of the teacher education initiative for the Teachers College/UNICEF Afghanistan Project.Lucy Corvino received her art education at Rhode Island School of Design and Teachers Collage, Columbia University. She is the illustrator of many books for children, including the Classic Starts series and the picture book A Father's Song. Lucy lives in New Jersey with her husband.
