Janice A. Radway is Walter Dill Scott Professor of Communication and Professor of American Studies and Gender Studies at Northwestern University. Kevin Gaines is Professor of History and Director of the Center for African American and African Studies at the University of Michigan. Barry Shank is Professor of Comparative Studies at Ohio State University. Penny M. Von Eschen is Professor of History and American Culture at the University of Michigan.
