Author Biography - Steven Heller

Steven Heller is the art director of the New York Times Book Review and co-chair of the master of fine arts design program at the School of Visual Arts. He is author or editor of more than eighty books on graphic design and known for his progressive political, cultural, and social writings on design. He lives in New York City. Veronique Vlenne is a creative director, marketing consultant, and author who has written extensively on design ethics and business practices. She has edited, art-directed and written for high-profile design magazines such as Communication Arts, Eye, Graphis, Interiors, Image, Metropolis, and Print. A consultant for clients such as Yves Saint Laurent, d/g*, and Express, she is an expert on issues surrounding corporate design, branding, and advertising- A faculty member of the School of Visual Arts design program, she teaches a course in design and social responsibility. The author of several books, she lives in New York City.
