Description - Golden Pavilions by Robert Brunton
The year was 1966, and the Vietnam War was escalating. Seen by many observers as a politically cynical stunt, The United Nations sponsored 'The First Asia Trade Fair' in Bangkok, and Australia, eager to position herself as a regional power, participated with a large Pavilion. For Teddy and William Brown, designers of Australia's Golden Pavilion, this seemed the opportunity of a lifetime, but the ambitious project founders against unforeseen obstacles, and soon becomes a desperate struggle played out in an emerging boom town, under the shadow of the Vietnam War.
