Warrior is the powerful true story of a British soldier s heroism during the invasion of Iraq and a shocking account of how he was ruthlessly sacrificed by the Establishment. fter a childhood blighted by poverty and domestic violence, the young Tam Henderson embarked upon a career in the army. Eager to assert his Scottish identity after his upbringing in England, Tam joined The Black Watch regiment. As the war against Saddam escalated, Tam found himself in the thick of ferocious fighting during the capture of Basra in April 2003. When his chain gun suddenly fired and seriously wounded a comrade, Tam was told to take the rap but refused, insisting that the dangerous fault on the gun needed fixing. Despite his protests, he was convicted by a kangaroo court and sent home in disgrace. But Tam fought back and embarked upon the biggest battle of his life against the Ministry of Defence and arms companies. acey and starkly authentic, Warrior takes readers on an exhilarating roller-coaster journey that is by turns horrific, darkly humorous and poignantly reflective.
