After its sold-right-out, award-winning British premiere at the Edinburgh Festival, Bombshells transferred to the West End of London, where it opened on 6 September to further critical acclaim. The one-woman star of the show, Caroline O'Connor, for whom Bombshells was written, was nominated for an Olivier Award in 1995 for Mack and Mabel, and appeared in Me and My Girl in London and Chicago on Broadway. She was Nini Legs-in-the-Air in Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge.
