Book Review: Slater Field Guide to Australian Birds by Peter Slater - Reviewed by EllenTT (04 Nov 2009)
As an avid birdo, I find this book the easiest of all field guides. Its in easy-to-find sections (quickly flip through to catch that male fairy wren with his little harem!). It's a great size for your cargo pants unlike some of the newer guides. The drawings are so lifelike and detailed it makes identification a breeze. The book itself is a masterpiece, its so beautiful it can even just sit on your coffee table - it makes a great gift.
