Description - The Map Of Time, by Felix J. Palma

London, 1896. Andrew Harrington's beloved has been murdered by Jack the Ripper. Claire Haggerty longs to escape the constraints of Victorian society. For both, time is the problem: to escape it, to change it, might offer them the hope they need. As their lives become entangled with H.G. Wells - who is basking in the success of his novel The Time Machine - all three set off on a desperate flight through the centuries. But what happens when we alter history? Weaving together mystery, science fiction, romance, and historical fantasy, The Map of Time is an epic page-turner that will take you on a ride back (and forward) in time.

What an adventure (or 3!) This is a cleverly written novel set in 3 parts each overlapping with the next. It is deft in style and momentum and leaves you reeling with each new twist and turn. The twists and turns come at a rapid pace but the great penmenship of the author means you will not get lost in what could quite easily be a tricky storyline to follow. It will take you through the lives of several characters who will take your breath away have you fuming in frustration or leave you in awe and this can all be within a few pages. I would highly recommend this book. It is a large book to get through but I think most people will find that another part of its charm. It is a story of great romances, heroics and tragedy but one that will keep you turning each page and not wanting to put it down.

If you’re a sci-fi fan or a fan of wonderful Victorian romance novels then this book is for you. The Map of Time is an enthralling, well written read that will capture one’s heart and take you on one hell of a Journey.

It has a little something for everyone whether it is the tragedy of an unlikely romance that was cut short or the idea of turning back/ forwards the hands of time.

The book is written in three parts, with each part approaching time travel from a slightly different angle and then the third part tying it altogether just not in a neatly, for Felix J Palma plays with the reader many times throughout the book. It is a credit to Felix J Palma’s talent that he is able to keep you guessing and sitting on the edge of you seat so well.

The first part of this book starts off by telling you about the dashing Andrew Harrington and his desperate need to save Marie Kelly, his lover who has been killed by Jack the Ripper. You are met with the idea of Victorian people paying for a trip into the year 2000 to see what life is like. Then there is Claire Haggerty wants to escape her Victorian restraints and falls for a man who lives in the future.

Map of Time is a fascinating historical fantasy novel that uses real and fictional characters to investigate time travel and the ability to change the history. It also questions what would happen if we do so…….
