Author Biography - Anthony Suau

Anthony Suau was born in the United States in 1956, and is now based in Europe. In 1984, Suau won a Pulitzer Prize for his images of the famine in Ethiopia and is the 1996 recipient of the Robert Capa Gold Medal for his coverage of the war in Chechnya. In 1995 he published two books, one on the war in Chechnya and the other on the genocide in Rwanda. In 1999, Suau completed a ten-year project entitled Beyond the Fall, documenting the transformation of the former Soviet bloc.
